Upon completion of this workshop, the participant will be able to:
- Identify methods to reduce team conflict and anxiety during stressful perioperative situations, improve team communication, and improve patient care and safety.
- Learn and practice techniques that promote physician well being and resilience
Anesthesiologists must utilize a variety of communication methods during daily clinical care and especially during stressful perioperative events. These techniques include conflict de-escalation, promoting the well being of team members, and ensuring that all team members can express their opinions in a safe and receptive environment. Using collaboration and team work among clinicians improves patient safety and the quality of health care delivery.
