WELI Workshop: Impactful Communication Skills for Leaders
June 13, 2021
2:00pm – 3:30pm ET
Speaker: Laurie K. Baedke, FACHE, FACMPE
Upon completion of this workshop, the participant will be able to:
- Identify their communication style; amplifying strengths and overcoming barriers
- Receive and deliver formative feedback for improved performance
- Increase clarity of messages in all formats to maximize impact
Whether you’re introducing yourself at an internal meeting, delivering a presentation from the main stage at a conference, interviewing for a promotion, delivering performance feedback, or advocating for resources, effective communication is a critical leadership skill. This is especially important in the medical field where poor communication and failure to resolve conflicts are primary reasons behind adverse events in medicine. In this dynamic and interactive workshop, we’ll explore nine elements of effective communication: clarity, transparency, objectivity, adaptability, anchoring, active listening, empathy, curiosity, and charisma and how to apply them in your personal and professional life for greater success.
